Barbara Ellen "Barb"  Eick (Johnson)
Barbara E. Eick, 81 of Independence, Iowa died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

Barbara was born on May 29, 1932, in Grundy Center, Iowa the daughter of Alfred J. and Grace L. (Binder) Johnson. She was raised in the Conrad, Iowa area graduating from the Conrad High School in 1950. On December 16, 1950 she was married to Donald M. Eastman. The couple lived in Marshalltown, Iowa and California prior to returning to the Waterloo, Iowa area. The couple later divorced. In 1972 Barbara moved to Independence, Iowa, and was married to Darrell Eick. Darrell later died in 1978. On February 14, 1984 Barbara was married to Harry E Key and they made their home in Independence. Harry died in 1998.

Barbara loved and enjoyed her family and her favorite activities were playing pool and cards.

She is survived by five daughters; Donna (Michael) Kubik, Evansdale, IA., Diana (Dan) Crook, Waterloo, IA, Lee (Robert) Brown, Brandon, IA, Margaret Eastman and Wendi Brimmer both of Independence, IA, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a sister; Janice Davy, Independence, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a grandson Scott, a sister; Betty Woosley and three brothers; Theodore Johnson, John Alfred Johnson, and Alvin Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA, with Rev. Tony Davy officiating. Burial will be held in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, IA. Friends may call from 1 to 5 PM Friday, and from 9 AM till Services Saturday at the funeral home.
