Condolence: Toby worked for me when he first started at the Gazette-a long time ago, and he was a great worker. He was friendly, made his peers laugh and completed any task before him! Eventually, he left my department to work on the press with my son. Toby stayed friends with my son and his wife even after they each moved on to other careers. Condolence: When I first met Toby, it was on Saturday, Feb 8th 2014 at a comedy show in Brandon Iowa. Like most crazed fans, this guy claimed to be related to me, so I was prepared to sign his chest with a Sharpie pen. But before the show started, he cornered me with names of people I know, so he had the proof that we are 2nd cousins. This particular event was sold out 7 days early and the show was amazing, but the best part was meeting my cousin Toby for the first time. My last fond memory of him was at my Cedar Rapids show on Friday, Sept 5th 2014, where he had a grin a mile wide with him and the in-laws in the front row, and I made the show all about them. It was a great time, and I will never forget Toby's big goofy smile that lit up the room. LIFE is too short, I wish I had known Toby for more than 10 months. Rest in peace cousin Toby!
