Robert Allen Olsen, 69, of Aurora, Iowa, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at his home in Aurora, Iowa.

Robert was born on November 30, 1945 in Independence, IA the son of Mahlon ”Bud”, & Callie (Dudley) Olsen. He attended the East Buchanan Schools in Quasqueton, Iowa and on August 11, 1963 he married Barbara J. Buckingham. The family made their home in Quasqueton until moving to Aurora, Iowa in 1990. He was employed with the John Deere Company in Waterloo, Iowa.

He loved his family especially spending time with them and his friends. .He loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and camping.

Bob is survived by his wife Barbara, Aurora, IA, four children; Wendy Harker, and Robin (Denny) Chamberlain, Aurora, IA, Amy Olsen, and Robert “Dude” Olsen, Cedar Rapids, IA, seven grandchildren; Joshua, Daniel, Ashlee Chamberlain, Amanda Franks, Nicholas Hare, Kimberly (Damien) Kress and Douglas McAtee. Seven great grandchildren; Chance, Andrew, and Catalina Chamberlain, Chanel Goslin, Emma Hare, Chloe Kress, and Mason Rhines. His father; Mahlon “Bud” Olsen, Independence, IA, a brother; Leroy (Kathy) Olsen, Quasqueton, IA., two sisters; Shelia Sells Quasqueton, IA, and Sheryl (Norm) Wordehoff, Rowley, IA.

He was preceded in death by his mother Callie Olsen, and a brother Cecil Olsen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA, with Rev. Kirk Dudley officiating. Burial will be in the Quasqueton Cemetery, Quasqueton, IA. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
