Chris L. Gates, 57, of Rowley, Iowa died Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Cedar Falls Care Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Chris was born on August 14, 1958 in Oelwein, IA the son of William G. and Shirley M. (Cozart) Gates. He was a graduate of East Buchanan High School, and attended Kirkwood Community College. He spent over 20 years working as a Superintendant for PCI in Reinbeck, IA. After he retired he started Gater Unlimited, LLC, and fabricated custom works for the disabled.

He is survived by his two sons Andrew Gates, Oelwein, IA, and Adam Gates, Marion, IA; four grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Oberbreckling, Troy Mills, IA, Ann Gates, Raymore, MO, and Janice Paten, Fayetteville, NC; three brothers, John Gates, Renwick, IA, Gerold Gates, Aurora, IA, and Allen Gates, Vanceboro, NC.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Roger Gates, and Robert Gates.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1 PM, at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA, with Rev. Bill Black officiating.
