Obituary for Mahlon LeRoy "Bud" Olsen
Mahlon L. "Bud" Olsen, 91, of Rowley, Iowa died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the ABCM Rehabilitation Center’s West Campus in Independence, Iowa.
Mahlon was born on March 11, 1925 near Quasqueton, Iowa the son of Chancey and Doris M. (Cook) Olsen. He was a 1942 graduate of the Quasqueton High School, Quasqueton, Iowa. On February 21, 1945 he married Callie G. Dudley in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was employed with the Allis Chalmers Company, Iowa Steel both in Cedar Rapids and the Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, Iowa prior to owning and operating the Olsen Auto Salvage near Rowley, Iowa.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
Mahlon is survived by three children; LeRoy (Kathy) Olsen, and Shelia Sells, Quasqueton, IA, Sheryl (Norm) Wordehoff, Rowley, IA. Eleven Grandchildren, twenty three Great Grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, and two sisters; Jean Postel, Independence, IA, and Margaret Miller, Cedar Rapids, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Callie Olsen in 2002, two sons; Robert and Cecil Olsen, a sister; Marie Marter and a brother, John Olsen.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Am Saturday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA with Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the Quasqueton Cemetery, Quasqueton, IA. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday and from 8 AM till services Saturday at the funeral home.
