Obituary for Jill Elaine Junk (Immerzeel)

Jill Elaine Junk (Immerzeel)
Jill Elaine Junk, 58, of Independence, Iowa received her angel’s wings on Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home in Independence, Iowa with her family at her side.

Jill was born on July 22, 1958 in Cedar Falls, Iowa the daughter of Charles (Chuck) and Cheryl (Palmer) Immerzeel. She was a 1976 graduate of the Janesville Community Schools. On May 7, 1977 she was united into marriage to Joseph M. Junk at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Waterloo, Iowa, and was blessed with three wonderful children; Jason, Justin, and Jessica who she was extremely proud of.

Jill was employed with GMAC Mortgage, where over her thirty eight years she gained many friends who she dearly called family. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, impeccable taste for clothing and shoes, her “Cajun Shrimp” nail polish and bouffant hair. Every person she met was greeted with a friendly smile and conversation. She was blessed to have many wonderful friends but none closer than Connie, Donna, Sue and Ann Marie. She loved them dearly and it is no surprise that they called themselves the “Fab 5”. Her biggest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. There wasn’t a cheek left unkissed when Gramma Jill was around. They are her little sweeties and she was very vocal about her love for them. She was known for her sweet tooth and will be remembered for her special party mix and peanut brittle. Her other joy was quilting. She spent many hours making quilts for family and friends. She loved being surrounded by loved ones and was grateful to have them near when she joined her heavenly father.

She is survived by her husband of thirty nine years, Joe. Her children; Jason (Lisa) Junk, Justin (Sarah) Junk all of Independence, IA, and Jessica (Craig) Moffitt, Colfax, IA. Her grandchildren; Clinton, Clara, Case, Lane, Wyatt, Ty, Maybry Junk, and Jillian and James Moffitt. Her parents; Chuck and Cheryl Immerzeel, Janesville, IA, and her brothers and sisters; Craig Immerzeel, Scott (Brenda) Immerzeel, Jodi (Tim) West and Julie (Don) Boyle all of Janesville, IA, her father and mother-in-law; Robert and Pat Junk, a brother-in-law; Mike (Carolyn) Junk, and ten nieces and nephews.

Jill was preceded in death by her grandmother Mildred Reuter and grandmother-in law Evelyn Junk.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, December 30th, 2016 at St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church in Independence, Iowa with Rev. David Beckman officiating, with burial will in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, and from 9 AM till services Friday at the church, where a rosary will be recited at 3 PM and a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday.
