Obituary for Marjorie Marie Seufferlein

Marjorie Marie  Seufferlein
Marjorie M. Seufferlein, 89, of Winthrop, Iowa died Friday, September 29, 2017 at her home in Winthrop.

Marjorie was born on January 30, 1928 in Alta, Iowa the daughter of Billie Dee and Anna Marie (Hellman) Ryherd. She graduated from the Alta High School in 1946 and attended a cosmetology school in Sioux City, IA. She was married to Charles Clinton Lohse in 1946, the family lived in Sioux City prior to moving to the Waterloo, Cedar Falls area. On December 1, 1962 she married Erie Frederick Seufferlein in Waverly, IA. In 1963 Marjorie and Fred moved to Independence, IA and opened Fred’s Drive Inn operating it until 1973. Marjorie then began working for McElroy’s Food Market in Winthrop working there for 33 years prior to her retirement in 2007.

She enjoyed ceramics and watching old Shirley Temple and John Wayne movies.

She is survived by three children; Richard (Patricia) Lohse, Rembrandt, IA, Roger Lohse, Winthrop, IA, Jean Ann (Richard) Simons, Independence, IA. A step son- Ron Seufferlein, Waterloo, IA, three grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren one sister; Sara Lorenzen, Rockford, IL, and five brothers; John Ryherd, Waterloo, IA, Billie Ryherd, Cedar Falls, IA, Charlie Ryherd, Alta, IA, and Kenny Ryherd, Mitchellville, IA, Donnie Ryherd in Madison, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Erie Frederick Seufferlein, two grandchildren; Amanda Clinton, and Clinton Lohse, two brothers; Robert and Floyd Ryherd, and a sister; Margaret Ryherd.

Funeral services will be held at 11 Am Tuesday, at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA, with Rev. Bob Solon officiating. Burial will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, IA. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday, and from 9 AM to service Tuesday at the funeral home.
