Obituary for James William Miller

James William  Miller
James W. Miller, 83, of Jesup, IA died Friday, June 22, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, IA, following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

James was born on March 18, 1935 in Oelwein, IA the son of William L. and Helen M. (Kern) Miller. He attended the Crowfoot Country and Hazelton Schools, in rural Hazelton, IA. On January 14, 1955 he married Charlet A. Larson in Oelwein, IA. For several years he worked as a mason for Arnold Lenius Construction. In 1960 they made their home in rural Jesup, IA, and James went to work as a Machinist at John Deere in Waterloo, IA. He worked proudly at John Deere for over 39 years and retired in 1999.

James was a kind, compassionate man who enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family. He had incredible problem-solving skills and never encountered a problem he couldn’t fix. James was loved by many and will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his children; Dianne Miller, Jesup, IA, Patricia (Richard) Reuter, Jesup IA, Mike (Denise) Miller, Independence, IA, Tonia Miller, Waterloo, IA, and Anita Miller, Jesup, IA, five grandchildren; Dana Miller, Daniel (Brittani) Miller, Eddie Taylor, Tabitha Reuter, and Aaron Parker Jr., eight great grandchildren; Damien Mohorne Jr., DeVante Miller, Elijah Miller, Kimberly Miller, Treychun Reuter, Kylie Miller, Tiana Reuter, and Boone Miller, and a sister Sondra Huebner, Sun City, AZ.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Charlet Miller, his parents, William and Helen Miller, a daughter Jolene Parker, and a granddaughter Nicole Taylor.

A Private Memorial Service were held at Littleton Cemetery, Littleton, IA.
