David Joseph Williams, 68, of Independence, IA died Tuesday, September 26, 2018 in his home in Independence, IA.

He was born on December 11, 1949, in Independence, IA, the son of Eva Mae Williams. David was later adopted by his maternal grandparents Alfred C. “Sonny” and Grace M. Williams. He grew up in Littleton, IA and attended the Rural Amish Schools in Buchanan County, IA. He spent many years of his life living and working throughout the United States. In 1992 he finally made his home back in Iowa. David worked for Real Racing Wheels in Independence, IA for almost eighteen years, before he retired in July of 2018.

David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he had the chance. He loved to visit with family and friends and could talk to nearly anyone for hours.

He is survived by his son Levon (Candi) Williams, Jesup, IA, three grandchildren, two brothers Bill Rahe, Mount Vernon, IA, Don Rahe, Oelwein, IA, a sister Deb Naber, Spirit Lake, IA, and many nieces and nephews

David is preceded in death by his mother, Eva M. Williams, and his grandparents Alfred and Grace Williams.

A private Memorial service will be held at a later date.
