Obituary for Ronald Dean Naylor

Ronald D. Naylor, 79, of Randalia, IA died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, IA.

Ronald was born to Henry G. Naylor and Enda M. (Albert) Naylor on December 14, 1938 in Iowa City, IA. He was raised in Independence and attended Independence school district. In 1957 Ronald enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served proudly until 1959. On November 7, 1961 he and Lena F. Pinkston were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Independence, IA. Together they made their home in Independence and in 1987 they moved to Randalia, IA. He worked for Atwood/Dura in West Union, IA and retired in 2001.

Ronald was an active member of his community. He was a member of the Eagles for over 50 years and served as president of his local chapter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ronald also loved staying active with is hands staying busy working in his garden and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lena Naylor, Randalia, IA, his son Gregory (Marcie) Naylor Independence, IA, his Grandchildren; Amanda (Jeremy) Klendworth, Fairbank, IA, Sydney Naylor, Independence, IA, Pyper Naylor, Independence, IA, Corbin Naylor, Independence, IA, Kynsie Naylor, Independence, IA, his brothers and sisters; Lorraine (John) Romick Independence, IA, Florence (Kenny) Hermsen Independence, IA, Evelyn (Pat) McCalley Independence, IA, Lyle (Merlene) Naylor, Urbana, IA, Ivan (Jean) Naylor, Denver, CO, Frank Naylor, INdependence, IA, Donald (Sandy) Naylor, Oxford Junction Independence, IA, Kenneth (and friend Jeff) Naylor, Independence, IA, Richard (Linda) Naylor, Papillion, NE. And many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; Henry and Enda Naylor, and his brother and sister; Henrietta Bellendier and Ivan Naylor.

A Celebration of L ife will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the American Legion Hall in Independence, IA.
