Obituary for Daryl Duane Daubenberger

Daryl Duane  Daubenberger
Daryl D. Daubenberger passed away at his home with his family by his side on April 4, 2013.

Daryl was born on November 18, 1932 in Winthrop, Iowa the son of Arley and Vida (Chesmore) Daubenberger. He graduated from Quasqueton High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955 and spent most of that time at Fort Leonard Wood. MO. He met Norma Fuller in 1953 and they later married April 17th 1954. After living on the military base for a year, they returned to his family home where he joined his father working on the dairy farm. Daryl served as president of Buchanan County Farm Bureau, was a member of the East Buchanan School Board, American Legion and Quasqueton Union Church Board. He had a love for Hudson’s, the outdoors, sports - especially the Hawkeyes, farming, and was an avid collector of the past. Daryl enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s softball and basketball games and was the team’s unofficial stat keeper. Daryl was not “opinionated”, he was just right.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Norma of almost 59 years. Sons, David (Angie) Daubenberger of Quasqueton, IA and Greg (Canduce) Daubenberger of Calumet, IA. Grandchildren, Dana (Jason) Sullivan, Dawn (Corey) Kleve, Taylor Daubenberger, Tina (Mike) Kennett, David (Brenda) Michael, Stephen (Kerrie) Michael, Trisha (Terry) King, one sister, Linda (Duane) Stark and multiple great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Daryl is preceded in death by his parents, son (Duane), and granddaughter (Davian).

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8 at 11AM at the Quasqueton Union Church. Friends may call Reiff Funeral Home Sunday, April 7 from 4 to 8 PM Quasqueton. Burial will be in the Quasqueton Cemetery.
