Condolence: So for the loss of Carolyn. She was a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Condolence: to Carolyn's family,
there was a missing spirit at Rex's visitation on Thursday night and I am sure you felt it on Friday too. That spirit was Carolyn's lively laugh and smile. It was captured in the pictures of Rex and Carolyn that were part of the video.

Now Carolyn and Rex's spirits are reunited after the few weeks of her physical battle to get stronger. She is at peace now.

Carolyn taught me to cane chairs. I know that the hours of time we spent over the 3 chairs (inspecting my work before sending me home for the next steps) were so much fun! There were stories told and she and Rex were always there to laugh and joke.

Carolyn and Rex's friendship to me and many others who got to know them through PFLAG or ACCESS is something I'll treasure. I was fortunate to have another "Mom and Dad." They were wonderful role models and advocates for GLBTQ rights in the legislature. I know that Carolyn wore her rainbow pin proudly.

She was proud of her family and their kids. Her presence in their lives was important to her.

I can't quite realize that both Carolyn and Rex are gone from our lives now, but the memories those of us who knew and loved them will live on in the legacy they have left in their family and in the ways they changed and impacted lives.

I am thinking of you all now. The comfort in knowing that Carolyn and Rex are together again is a blessing.
