Karen G. Jensen, 61, of Independence, Iowa died peacefully on March 5th, 2014 at her home following a long illness.

Karen was born April 9, 1952 in Cedar Falls, IA, the daughter of Ethan Ray & Marvel Jean (Ramthun) Brayton. She was a graduate of Independence High School and Ellsworth Community College. She worked at the Buchanan County Health Center as a Ward clerk and Nurses Aid for 40 years.

On May 21, 1999 she was united in marriage to Rick Jensen at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to craft shows and playing hand bells at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, IA.


She was preceded in death by her father Ethan Brayton.

She is survived by her husband, Rick, a son Jason Hunziker, Independence, IA, two grandchildren Jason Scott Hunziker and Collyn McAtee, Independence, IA, her mother Marvel J. Brayton, Ft. Worth TX, a brother Brad Brayton, Independence, IA, three sisters Janelle Brayton, Independence, IA Rita Klendworth, Ft. Worth, TX and Carmen Bussard, Des Moines, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Friday, March 7th, 2014 at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may call from 1 PM to services Friday at the funeral home in Independence, IA
