Obituary for Robert Gordon Turner
Robert G. Turner, 68, of Independence, Iowa died on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, IA.
Robert was born in Lewellen, NE on April 13, 1947 the son of Ruel and Belva (Campbell) Turner. He was a graduate of Harlan High School, Harlan, IA. On December 30, 1977 he married Judith Kaye Bergan in Harlan, IA. They made their home in Marion, IA for several years while Robert was working for Caledonia Trucking. In 1988 they settled in Independence, IA, where Robert operated his own trucking business, and later taught at Hawkeye Community College.
He is survived by his wife, Judith, four sons Jerry Carlin, Cedar Rapids, IA, Dave Carlin, Cedar Rapids, IA, Jon (Vicki) Carlin, Independence, IA, and Robert Turner, Independence, IA. Four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert’s wishes were to be cremated with services to be held at a later date.
