Obituary for George Gerald Fulton

George Gerald  Fulton
George G. Fulton, 76, of Brandon IA, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice house in Waterloo, IA.

George was born on December 30, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Verl G. and Ruby K. (Toomer) Fulton. He attended school in Brandon, IA and later in Jesup, IA. In 1957 he proudly joined in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. On October 4, 1961 he married Rosemary Ann Zitz in Monroe, MI. They later made their home in Brandon, IA, where he worked for many years as a Truck driver.

He enjoyed fishing, racing, and watching the “Riflemen,” and “Gun Smoke” T.V. shows. But what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosemary of Brandon, four children, George (Betty) Wright, Cedar Rapids, IA, Kathy (James) Kanagy, Holbrook, IA, Dwayne Fulton, Brandon, IA, and Darlene Lytle, North Liberty, IA. Nine grandchildren; Becky Lown, Belle Kanagy, Bryan Martin, Mitch Martin, Drew Lytle, Mackenzie Lytle, Morgan Lytle, Ashley Wright, Josh Wright, Matt Swelha, Robert Swelha, and Deb Swelha. Eight great grandchildren, a brother Verlen Fulton, Independence, IA, and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, three daughters Debbie, Marie Ann, and Lynn Marie Fulton, and two brothers Jim and Roland Fulton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday at the Church of Christ, Brandon, IA, with Larry Powers officiating. Burial will be held at the Walker Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 AM till services at 1:30 PM Friday at the church in Brandon.
