Obituary for Jason Alan Hunziker
Jason A. Hunziker, 39, of Independence, IA died at his home on Monday, November 6, 2017.
Jason was born on January 23, 1978, in Waterloo, IA the son of Paul E. Hunziker and Karen G. (Brayton) Jensen. He was raised in Independence and was a 1996 graduate of Independence High School. He enjoyed farming for many years with his father, raising cattle, and he ran his own custom hay baling business. Jason loved his children and enjoyed taking them fishing and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his father, Paul E. Hunziker, Independence, IA, two sons Collyn E. McAtee, Quasqueton, IA, and Jason S. Hunziker, Independence, IA, maternal grandmother Marvel J. Brayton. Four Uncles Larry (Pat) Hunziker, Shellsburg, IA, Ron (Kathy) Hunziker, Fairfax, IA, and Richard Hunziker, Winthrop, IA, Brad (Sue Brayton, Independence, IA, seven Aunts Barb ( Don ) Cook, Independence, IA, Charlotte Postel, Independence, IA, Joyce Koelher, Winthrop, IA, and Shirley (Cecil) Pillard, Coggon, IA, Norma (Raymond) Pillard, Coggon, IA, Janelle Brayton, Independence, IA, Rita (Phil) Klendworth, Fort Worth, TX, Carmen (Dave) Bussard, Des Moines, IA, and special friends Terri, Jeff, and Julie.
Jason is preceded in death by his mother Karen Jensen, paternal grandparents Lawrence L. and Betty M. Hunziker, maternal grandfather Ethan Brayton, and Aunt and Uncle Donna and Rick Wierck.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA, with Pastor Greg DeBoer officiating. Burial will be held at Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2 PM until 6 PM and from 8 AM until 10:30 AM Monday morning at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory.
