Scott R. Gordon, 54, of Independence, IA died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA following a long illness.

Scott was born on January 14, 1963, in Waterloo, IA the son of Larry D. and Catherine A. (Weepie) Gordon. He was a 1981 graduate of West Central High School in Maynard, IA. After graduating he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served proudly until his discharge in 1991. After the service he made his home in Lemoore, CA, and later Phoenix, AZ. Scott moved back to Iowa in 2001. On June 9 2002 he married Pamela L. Swaim in Westgate, IA. and they made home in Independence. He worked for many years in maintenance and as an Electrician, for Pries Enterprises INC. and L& M Manufacturing.

He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Pamela Gordon, Independence, IA, his mother Catherine Gordon, Independence, IA, a daughter Celia (Dusty) Even, Jesup, IA, two grandchildren, Connor and Gavin Even, Jesup, IA, three brothers Brad (Jenn) Gordon, Fairbank, IA, James (Candice) Gordon, Ankeny, IA, and Michael Potter, San Francisco, CA, a sister Carla (Chris) Even, Jesup, IA, six nieces, and five nephews.

Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents and his father Larry D. Gordon.

A visitation will be held Wednesday December 27, 2017 from 4 PM until 6 PM at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM; with Pastor John Sheda officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
