Obituary for Cynthia Ann "Cyndy" Rabbitt

Cynthia “Cyndy” Rabbitt of Jesup, IA died on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Buchanan County Health Center.

Cynthia was born November 22, 1948 in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Peter and Annie (Parks) Rabbitt. She attended the Nashua Country School in rural Nashua, IA and later graduated in 1966 from Wheeling High School, Wheeling, IL. On August 9, 1969 she married James Bilharz in Charles City, IA. They made their home on a dairy farm in rural Catawba, WI. Cyndy owned and operated the “8 Ball-in,” a pool hall in Catawba, WI. In 1979 she and James divorced; and Cyndy moved to Wheeling, IL. For over 20 years she worked for herself as a broker, buying, leasing and selling railroad cars to various railroad companies. In 2002 she moved to Jesup, IA to be with her family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Laura Parks of Hampton, IA but longtime residents of rural Nashua. Her parents Peter and Annie L. Rabbitt of Wheeling, IL.

She is survived by her children Jennifer Bilharz and Patrick (Nicole) Bilharz; grandchildren, Kassandra McCriston, Tiffani, Melody, Christopher, Justin, Taylor and Violet; great granddaughter Vayda. Her sister, Rebecca Mueller and brother, Michael Parks and families. Also first cousins Hope Olson, Wayne & Rose Crouch and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Hall, 931 6th Street, Jesup, IA from 12 PM to 5 PM, September 22, 2018.
