Obituary for Helena May Mulvaney

Helena Mulvaney was called home to God on Saturday, December 12th, 2020 at the Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri

Helena was born on May 30, 1934 the daughter of Delbert and Mildred Jenkins. She married Carl R. Mulvaney on September 5, 1952 in LaPlata, MO. And the couple made their home in Independence, IA. Helena was employed as a Lab Tech with Iowa Ham in Independence until her retirement in 1999.

Helena had a zest for life and enjoyed dancing, traveling and being with family and friends. She was very loving and kind but did not hesitate to voice her opinion on matters that she felt strongly about.
For most of her adult life Helena lived and worked in Independence, IA. After retirement she moved to Macon MO and spent the last years of her life with her special friend, Chuck Elliott. They enjoyed each other and the finer things in life.

She is survived by 3 children, Rex Daniel (wife Lori) from Murphy, NC; Nancy Lee (husband Roger) from Indianapolis, IN; and Carla Elizabeth (husband Shondel) from Harlingen, TX. Plus numerous grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Helena was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Lynn, and husband, Carl Richard Mulvaney.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 16th, at 1:30 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, IA where she will be laid to rest next to her husband of 34 years. Helena will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
