Obituary for James Walter Faulkner Sr.
James W. Faulkner Sr., 71, of Independence, IA, died on Tuesday February 4, 2020 at the ABCM Rehabilitation Center – East Campus in Independence, IA.
James was born on March 22, 1948 in Hudson, IA, the son of Walter and Norma (Pond) Faulkner. He attended the Independence Community Schools and was a 1966 graduate of Independence High School. After graduating he volunteered for the AmeriCorps Vista from 1966 until 1968 in Kentucky, He attended the Hamilton Business College and received a degree in Electronics. He married Dorthea Sue Mike in 1966, and they made their home in Independence, IA. They were later divorced. James worked as the manager of the Malek Theater in Independence for over thirty years.
He is survived by his sons; James (Candice Peyton) Faulkner Jr., Hazleton, IA, and Birchel Faulkner, Orlando, FL, two grandsons; Aaron (Shleby Leisinger) Faulkner, and Johnathan (Jemini Tielebein) Faulkner, and a brother Carl (Pam Page) Scharff, Independence, IA.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Norma Faulkner.
