Obituary for Jodi Lynne Payne
Jodi L. Payne, 56, of Waterloo, IA, died on Saturday May 15, 2021 at her home in Waterloo, IA.
Jodi was born on November 30, 1964 in Iowa City, IA the daughter of John and Marlene J. (Potter) Payne. Jodi grew up in Waterloo, IA and attended Waterloo Central High School. In 1980, she married Bobbie Tudor in Waterloo, IA, together they had three children, Ashley, Adam and Brooke. For a short time, they moved to the Iowa Falls Area. They divorced in 1988, and Jodi moved back to Waterloo, IA. In 1991 she married Troy Trent in Waterloo, and they had a son together, Teylor. She went on to receive an Associates Degree from Hawkeye Community College and study Substance Abuse Counseling at the University of Northern Iowa. Jodi worked for over ten years at Ross marketing in Cedar Falls, a restaurant manager at HyVee in Waterloo, and most recently at the Highway 63 Diner.
Jodi loved helping others and helped for many years with the Women’s Ministry at Heartland Vineyard. She was there to support other women through hard times and to celebrate their achievements. She never forgot those she helped throughout the years, and they held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her parents Marlene and John Payne, Waterloo, IA, her children, Ashley (Brittany Van Brocklin) Tudor, Waverly, IA, Adam (Tori) Tudor, Waterloo, IA, Brooke Tudor, Waterloo, IA, and Teylor (Shelby Kuenstling) Trent, Dunkerton, IA, eight grandchildren, Bryant, Rylee, Payton, Laynie, and Beckett Tudor, Westyn Turner, Ryker Trent, Huxton Trent, a brother, Jeff Payne, Waterloo, IA, a sister, Jana (Brian) Woodley, Waterloo, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
Jodi is preceded in death by a sister, Jill Lowery.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday May 20th at Heartland Vineyard in Waterloo, IA.
