Obituary for John Edward Webb
John E. Webb, 85, of Independence, Iowa died Friday February 19, 2021 at the Unity Point – St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA.
John was born on May 23, 1935 near Lisbon, Iowa the son of Frank and Jennie (Norris) Webb. He attended the Lisbon Schools and was united in marriage to Joyce E. Hall. He became employed with the Blahnik Construction Company for 25 years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked with his son Scott Webb, Webb Concrete Construction Company.
John loved his family and following them around to their events. He enjoyed Stock Car Racing, Fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Joyce Webb, and his son Scott Webb of Independence, IA four grandchildren and a great grandchild.
John was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sherrie Elaine Webb, three brothers, Cato, Milas, and Milo Webb and two sisters, Alta Mae Penne and Florence Segars.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 23rd in the Reiff Family Center, Independence with Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the Quasqueton Cemetery, Quasqueton, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Monday at the Reiff Family Center, Independence, IA. Social Distancing and wearing a mask will be observed.
