Obituary for Maria Agnes Levendusky (Warrenburg)

Maria A. Levendusky, 81, of Waterloo, IA, formally of Jesup and Independence, IA, died on Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Rosewood Estates in Waterloo, IA.

Maria was born on February 1, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Robert T. and Margaret Gertrude (Brundage) Warrenburg. She attended St. Ann Grade School and St. John’s High School in Indiana. She was united in marriage to Francis L. Levendusky on June 28, 1975 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo, IA.

She was a teacher for thirty-three years; teaching at St. Joseph’s in Raymond, IA, Blessed Sacrament School in Waterloo, IA and St. Athanasius School in Jesup, IA for twenty-three. She retired from teaching in 2000. She was employed as a medical transcriptionist at Buchanan County Health Center in Independence from 2002 until 2013.

Maria was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Waterloo, IA.

She is survived by one daughter, Lara (Andrew) Welch of Hudson, IA, one granddaughter, Tanna Blair of Hudson, IA, a step-grandson, Blake Nyberg-Welch of Hudson, IA, and one brother, Larry Warrenburg of Anderson, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis, three sisters: Carol Warrenburg, Roberta Carr, Margaret Warrenburg, and one brother, John Warrenburg.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date; with entombment held at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo, IA.
