Marty J. Becker, 61, of Independence, IA died Monday, October 22, 2018 at his home in Independence, Iowa.
Marty was born on July 9, 1957 in Independence, Iowa the son of James R. and Wilda J. (Bantz) Becker.
He attended the Independence Schools until He entered the US Air Force on March 22, 1976 where he received his GED. He served until his discharge on September 30, 1977. Upon returning to Independence he was employed with the John Deere Company in Waterloo, IA, and worked in construction in the Independence, area until becoming employed with L&M Radiator Company in Independence for several years prior to becoming Disabled. He was married to Kamie Oldridge in the late 1970’s, the couple later divorced.
He is survived by a son Joshua D. Becker - Jentzler, Dubuque, IA, a sister; Lori Cleveland, Independence, IA., and a brother; Pat Becker, Waterloo, IA.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. The Reiff Family Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
