We were fortunate to have had Walt and Mary Osterhaus as great neighbors while we still lived in, what had become a relatively quiet neighborhood in Independence, after many children had been raised and were sent on their way into the adult world. Our trees always blessed Walt and Mary with many leaves in the fall, which I tried to keep picked up from the street curbing, even though they didn't necessarily have our name on them. I know Walt appreciated that. Our condolences to the family, knowing that Mary had a life well lived! Don & Barbara Sabin

I am so sorry to hear of Mary's death. She and Walt sure did keep us entertained when we were kids, didn't they Lisa? In more recent years, I spoke to Mary whenever she stopped in the office. She always had a smile and kept me updated on her family. Hugs and prayers to all of you. Angie (Miller) Roth

We enjoyed Mary while we were there visiting with our Mom Harriet Griswold. She took very good care of Harriet getting what ever she needed and all the visits at her room.

Mary was a very nice lady. When she lived in the neighborhood I would see her walking alot and she would always say hello with a big smile. I'm sure she will be solely missed by all who knew her. God bless her soul.
