Obituary for Robert David "Bob" Niemeier
Robert D. "Bob" Niemeier, 86, of Rowley, IA died Saturday May 30, 2020 at Bickford Senior Living in Marion, IA following a short illness.
Bob was born on January 1, 1934 to Henry and Mary (Haas) Niemeier who would raise Bob and his siblings in Walker, IA where he attended school. Bob worked as a Mill Operator at Cargill in Cedar Rapids for 42 years. And for over sixty years he enjoyed farming at his home in Rowley, IA.
Bob lived life to the fullest and had plenty of stories to prove it. He loved sharing his stories with friends and family, always could find something to laugh about, and enjoyed including others in his adventures. He could often be found cruising around the countryside in a horse drawn buggy with a few passengers and a dog or two along for the ride. His family and friends all have special memories of adventures on Bob's farm and he was happy to have visitors to share his piece of country living paradise with.
He is survived by his sons Stan (Deana) Niemeier of Walker, IA, Jeff (Alea) Niemeier of Cedar Rapids, IA, four grandchildren, and sister Marguerite Andrews of Walker, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Niemeier, and sister Marilyn Miell.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
