With the sad news of my friend Steve passing from this life, I wanted to send my sympathies to Vickie and Steve’s family. I know Steve’s qualities and fine personality from two time-displaced perspectives.

My first perspective was getting to know Steve during visits to my best friend Don, his brother, at their farm when I was in high school. He was young, aware, ”little brother”, not shy about showing good humor. The second and lasting perspective came several decades later when we crossed paths over a July 4th holiday and Pilcher family reunion in Independence.

Even with disparate encounters in time Steve persisted in being good, warm, funny, genuine .. life-long qualities of person that drew all of us to him and remain in our fondest memories.
Peace on you Steve.

Your friend, Bob Harberts.
