Dear Carolyn and all of the Rex Jones family, I met Rex and Carolyn shortly after I came out in probably 1994 or 1995. The two of them became some of my favorite people because of their loving support for their own son Kendall and for all of us who adopted them as our favorite PFLAG mom and dad! Over the years, I have spent a lot of time with both Rex and Carolyn. They shared a very special bond. Their kids and family meant a lot to them. Those of us who considered them to be our friends are very privileged to have had our lives touched by Rex's gentle soul and Carolyn's humor. Together they are/were wonderful role models for families learning to accept their GLBTQ child. I loved the time I spent with Rex and Carolyn! As Carolyn helped me cane the chairs, Rex was there to give us support and share in the experience with conversation. Rex was one that greeted me with a hug and our farewells were also hugs. My sincere sympathy to you, Carolyn, and all of your family. You all have known Rex as a loving husband and father. He was able to become part of lives of others because of the kindness and love that was Rex's way of living. With love to you all! Jim
