Scott and Brittany, It’s notable that when a child loses a parent(s) they are referred to as an orphan, if a spouse loses a spouse they are referred to as a widow/widower but there is no corresponding word for when a parent loses a child. To lose a child is indescribable, painful and heartbreaking. My heart goes out to you. While memories right now may be too emotional and painful with time they will be a precious treasure to remember and to keep Jasper alive in heart and mind, but it will take time. I hold to this Bible truth that Christ demonstrated numerous times the resurrection hope. The assured hope that our loved ones will be with us again but in a new world. Where death, sickness and pain of any kind will be eliminated ushering in peace and eternal life. Hold on to that hope! May God comfort you until then!
